Maunsell AECOM in the Community
Throughout the years, Maunsell AECOM has been actively participating in different charitable activities. We work in hand with Red Cross, the Community Chest, China Care Fund, ORBIS and Médecins Sans Frontières in contributing back to our community.

Maunsell AECOM joined ORBIS Pin Campaign 2008 to support ORBIS’ sight-saving efforts. This is our second time to call for colleagues’ donations to this meaningful event. Our colleagues had also received ORBIS pins to wear during October to further echo with the World Sight Day of World Health Organization.

Working in hand with Médecins Sans Frontières, Maunsell AECOM raised funds for MSF’s worldwide humanitarian medical aid, providing assistance to people regardless of races and nationalities.

As a tradition, Maunsell AECOM provided convenience to Hong Kong Red Cross in organizing a Blood Donation Day in the office area. There was a record of 71 colleagues joining the Day.

“We are saddened by the Sichuan earthquake that caused tens of thousands dead, hundreds of thousands injured and millions left homeless in China. While in remembrance of the victims, our thoughts are with their families and the survivors and our respect for the selfless rescue and relief workers and volunteers,” said Tony Shum, Group Chief Executive of AECOM Hong Kong, China and Asia Group.
Maunsell AECOM donated more than HK$1 million to Hong Kong Red Cross to assist people in need.

In view of the sufferers in Myanmar Cyclone, Maunsell AECOM had also donated more than HK$50,000 to Hong Kong Red Cross to make contributions to the assistance and relief efforts in Myanmar.

The worst snowstorms in decades had broken out in China in February this year, buring thousands of homes in ice and snow, and paralyzing the nation’s power and transportation networks. In view of the urgent needs of sufferers, Maunsell AECOM had donated more than HK$50,000 to Hong Kong Red Cross China Relief Fund to support the rescue and relief work at the affected regions.

As a further support to snowstorms sufferers in China, Maunsell AECOM called for staff’s participation at Community Chest New Territories Charity Walk in March. This year, the Walk took place at Route 8, which is Maunsell AECOM’s award-winning project, bringing additional meanings to this charity activities. After the activity, we had successfully raised HK$ 50,000 for the Community Chest. |
